Just read a good article in HBR on Agile Planning. https://lnkd.in/gcXtyTey Planning in an Agile organisation opens up a number of challenges. Long term, inflexible plans may be easier to build alignment on, but they ultimately hinder a company from pivoting and flexing its strategy in uncertain markets. It’s better to distribute planning, so that planning is made by autonomous and empowered teams who are closest to the soft and hard data needed to make good decisions. But this brings its own challenges - at scale, how can these teams align their plans to work together and achieve shared goals? In my view, there’s 2 critical pillars: 1. Simple Rules defining a strategy - any team should have a number of simple, well understood principles to follow, that when followed ensure general alignment to organisational goals. Complex strategic modes won’t cut it - teams have to make decisions fast without going back to the strategy primer to figure out exactly how to fit in. 2. Transparency of plans and goals - when teams set their goals, they should make them transparent within the organisation - both to anchor the team itself to them, and to create a shared language when communicating and collaborating with other teams. By being transparent on their goals, teams can find the points of alignment and opportunities to collaborate to enhance value. #strategy #agile #planning

Implementation of Agile framework is not that important to embrace agility. When you truly understand this, you begin to work in an Agile environment. Tools, techniques, frameworks never exist when one lacks the mindset of collaboration, value delivery, empathy, partnering, well-being, support, learning and lot more attributes which completes a human. #mindset #leadership

Today's loss to Australia wasn’t just a defeat—it felt like a surrender. Losing is part of the game, but giving up without a fight? That’s unacceptable. The team, especially stalwarts like Virat and Rohit, seemed to lack the hunger and pride that should come with wearing the Indian jersey. I was ready to give up on Agile Every “Agile Team” that I joined.. Relied on a toolset (usually Jira) Followed a framework (usually scrum) And they went through the agile motions – checking boxes on everything from the prescribed cadences, sprint metrics (usually sprint conformance), and story writing (usually done by a BA) Underneath it all, teams had very little knowledge of the strategic mission that they were part of, no shared vision of what they were building, and zero contact with real users. At every turn,  motivation around the work was extremely low. Then it happened… I took a risk (and a pay-cut) to join an organization with a new CEO and leadership team that wanted to embrace an authentic agile mindset. 3 things stood out 1)   The Mission was clear – Build a new mobile banking app 2)   No prescribed Agile methods or practices 3)   Leadership buy-in (and bravery) to do things differently from the get-go, the entrepreneurial spirit within the team was refreshingly high. Everybody had been presented with the customer pain point data. With a SaaS vendor embedded into our team, we stormed into opportunity canvasing sessions, story mapping, user interviews, prioritization… We crossed functions and collaborated in breaking down the work and followed it through development. We all jumped into testing. While I had used most of the methods with other teams in the past, this time it was different – the agile practices that we used were specifically tailored to the outcome the team was driving towards. We weren’t doing any of it to check the “Agile” box. We delivered the app in 8 months (on time), with no material defects. The team was truly proud of one another’s accomplishments. Hi All, I would like to understand from you all that as a manager or a leader working with Agile Teams, what is your biggest challenge that you face in helping teams deliver value? This question is applicable to Project Manager, Delivery manager, QA Manager, Team lead, Scrum Master or Agile Coach working with Agile Teams. 🌟 AWIT:: Reflecting on the Open Mic Session-"ALLYSHIP" 🌟   Facilitating the session was a truly enlightening and profoundly meaningful experience for me. Thanks to my amazing team-Japnam Kaur Bindra, Kirti Kaushik and Shelly Sachdeva who were instrumental in making it happen!   It provided a platform for our esteemed speakers- Kapila Gandhi and Gaurav Khurana and to share their personal stories, insights, and reflections on what it truly means to be an ally in a professional setting.   What stood out the most was the diversity of perspectives. They shared both challenges and successes, offering real examples of how allyship can manifest in the workplace. From advocating for underrepresented colleagues to creating inclusive spaces where everyone feels heard, the session emphasized that allyship isn’t just about awareness — it’s about taking action and showing up for others, especially when they may not have the opportunity or voice to do so themselves. The conversation highlighted the importance of listening with empathy and being willing to step out of one’s comfort zone to support marginalized groups. Allyship, as discussed- -requires consistent effort, -Humility, and -Sponsorship.   It was inspiring to hear colleagues share their commitments to becoming better allies and the session underscored the significance of creating spaces where people can speak openly about allyship and hold each other accountable. Overall, the Open Mic session was a powerful reminder that allyship is a collective effort that requires all of us to contribute, learn, and grow together.
