We are a specialist team of Defence and National Security advisory and Capital Markets professionals. Our mission is to solve the most significant growth and business development impediment to Australian Defence Industry success, which is a lack of access to private capital.
Periscope’s Managing Partner Mark Stevens, has pioneered private equity investment into Australian Defence Industry. Mark played a crucial role in originating the first major acquisition of an Australian Defence Industry company by private equity (Marand Precision Engineering by CHAMP, 2018).

Leveraging a team that brings deep industry and direct service expertise, Periscope will support businesses in overcoming the ESG challenges associated with investing in Australian Defence Industry, ensuring ESG risks are managed in an appropriate way given Australia’s geopolitical circumstances.

Our vision is that Australian Defence Industry has greater self-sufficiency. This will enable a much higher degree of local Australian capability development and allow Industry to prosper, creating more Australian jobs in our Defence Industry.
Our investment approach will create an environment where more Australian companies can grow into Defence Prime contractors. Private capital should be part of Australia’s Defence and National Security funding mix and Periscope will lead the way in creating investment opportunities that deliver direct and impactful capability outcomes.
